Introduction
So I shall be trying my hand at this blogging thing. How this goes, we shall see.
I play World of Warcraft a great deal, probably averaging at 6 hours per day. If I encounter just one problem in writing this blog, it will be in my tendency to simply accept what I see and work around it, rather than to think of ways it could be better. Perhaps this will attune me more towards that end, though I did not set out to do that. :) That said, I intend to focus on the game, specifically my characters and their experiences in it.
The characters I have are listed over there on the right. My “main” is somewhere between Zerei and Luth, as I love them both. When the expansion was released, however, I didn’t do much in the Outland save for one run through Ramparts on the mage I used to have (but traded to my brother in exchange for his (Zuvius)). I rolled my blood elf paladin (after much deliberation over hair color and which face to use) and started on the new quests on Sunstrider Isle. Thus the machine was set into motion.
Zerei made it to 70 before Luth did, winning the “race” by 2 levels, achieving the level after about two months of questing and leveling. Even found some time for instancing and PvP…being a gear-dependent class made it something of a necessity to maintain a good mob killing speed. Given the lack of real paladin gear Horde-side, Zerei was Retribution until 67, and went through her last 3 levels as a Holy/Prot paladin.
Since then, she has become a very successful and powerful healer. Instancing is a breeze, PvP is fun, and raiding (while frustrating at times) is definitely rewarding. I’ve re-settled into the role after months of being on dps duty in ZG, rAQ, and MC. (Before I really started playing Luth, Ahz the priest was my main.)
I’ve even done my fair share of tanking, embracing the hybrid nature of my class. I have points in Prot, through Improved Righteous Fury and up to Improved Hammer of Justice (which, mind you, is mostly for arenas). My tanking set is in some ways superior to my healing set, though with the talent points I am still a better healer than a tank. Still, it is sufficient for non-heroic 5-mans, and quite fun to boot. Shattered Halls in particular is a lot of fun for a paladin…consecrate spam while holding on to 5 or more mobs for the win.
I suppose that will suffice for an introduction. I will add more links as I think of them.
