Zul’Aman Test Run

MiM re-created itself on the PvP test realm yesterday evening to try a run of the new Zul’Aman instance. Without further adieu…

It’s still a bit buggy. The first boss event, which spawns mobs as the boss runs farther up his section of the instance, we couldn’t get past as after a couple wipes, the boss disappeared and didn’t come back. Before that, when trying to figure out the trash, we had a lot of problems where the mobs would not reaset after death, instead following certain members of the raid around like pets. They would evade attacks…just following someone around. This was quite comical at times…I tried to fraps it, but forgot to turn down my graphics settings so got too much lag.

The first boss, Noralkaz or something troll-ish, heretofore known as “the bear boss,” seems simple enough. He switches back and forth between bear form and big giant troll form. During the troll form, he does a cleave which spreads damage amongst those it hits, and will do a periodic charge at a random raid member, knocking several people back. When he switches to bear, he hits really hard, but doesn’t do anything particularly special.

I don’t know if that’s the entire fight, but that’s all we got, as after the third wipe he was gone. We may not be geared enough for it quite yet (we’re still toting blues/Kara loot for the most part).

As for other aspects of the instance, the scenery and music are awesome. 5/5 stars on both.

Once they fix the bugs, I’ll have more to say. But getting repeatedly ganked zoning out of the instance (PvP server after all) has me a bit wary to continue participating in the testing unless we switch to the pve one.
